About Altadena Rising
Altadena Rising is a collective of experienced, Dena-raised Black community organizers dedicated to supporting full recovery for Altadena's Black and most vulnerable families after the January 2025 Eaton Fire. Our creative marketing expertise, deep collaborative relationships with power, and grassroots systems authentically produce individualized and culturally-knowledgeable care for all.
We provide Altadena’s disaster-impacted families with deep-rooted care and opportunities to connect with disaster case management, equitable resource allocation, and recovery services, including legal, medical, social, personal care, and psychological services. We also build capacity for survivors to lead public advocacy, create what’s missing, and tell their stories.
Our goal is to secure the funding, attention, and support, and engagement infrastructure needed for a strong ecosystem of recovery and resilience in Altadena and beyond. We act as connective tissue between the active organizations on the ground serving all communities, including on the Leadership Council of the Eaton Fire Collaborative Long Term Recovery Board. We are also Altadena’s source of communication about local relief efforts, philanthropic resources, and government systems. Our Instagram is @AltadenaRising.
