Altadena Rising advocates for Black and most marginalized fire survivors on official boards and committees for Altadena’s recovery.

We bring inclusive information and data about our community’s evolving lived experiences and needs into the spaces where decisions are being made. We also consistently and reliably keep survivors up-to-date about what is happening, what needs to be known, what decisions are being made, and what survivors need to do.

Altadena Rising advises and backs up survivors who want to initiate recovery-related efforts of their own but might otherwise be disconnected from power.

We build survivors’ capacity to shape their own recovery by openly connecting them to resources and contacts, sharing the knowledge needed to push past systemic barriers, preparing survivors to engage in public processes, strengthening survivors’ voices to be respected in decision-making spaces, and ensuring survivors’ dignity is upheld without bias.

Altadena Rising produces community-led media that protects and shares our recovery narrative.

We also help local recovery efforts make community impact with strategic engagement, storytelling, creative marketing, clear messaging, and visual design services. Our Instagram @altadenarising has become the most followed, referenced, and reputable social media network available pertaining to Altadena’s recovery for survivors, donors, policymakers, and supporters.

Altadena Rising provides the community’s shared data platform where survivors equitably self-report their unmet recovery needs.

We produce and disseminate Unmet Needs reports in partnership with survivors, local organizers, and case managers, and advocate for all community-verified unmet needs to be met. We influence government officials, funders, service providers, and community leaders to acknowledge needs, respond in real time, collaborate across shared priorities, and deploy creative capital to close recovery gaps.
